This is a one (1) day course designed to enhance coding skills to ensure accurate and complete coding for the inexperienced coder or coders needing a refresher course. A review of the Official Coding Guidelines, fundamental principles, and practice exercises are provided in both the morning and afternoon sessions. This one (1) day course is designed to provide instruction on the most current CMS guidelines. The course will address timing and scheduling of assessments, and highlighted sections from Chapter 3. This two (2) day course provides instruction and orientation to the entry level medical record coordinator on clinical record policies, procedures, state and federal documentation requirements. Hands on experience with sample medical records is provided to acquaint participants with standard job functions.
